WELCOME TO SUNSHINE COTTAGE

Enjoy the peace & tranquility of this beautiful, unspoilt Hebridean island from one of its sunniest spots.

THE STORY OF SUNSHINE COTTAGE

We have been visiting Colonsay ourselves for many years. After exploring lots of the Isles, Colonsay kept calling us back. So we have now fulfilled a dream of ours to own a house on this very special place. We are also happy to rent the house to others to enjoy this as much as we do. So welcome to our home from home!

Sunshine Cottage is so called because it is in one of the sunniest spots on the island, with wrap-around views in the township of Upper Kilchattan.

The house is simply furnished, accessible all on one level and relaxing and comfortable for groups or a family of six people. With stunning views of the sea at Port Mor on one side, there is also the beautiful scenery across to the hills in front of the house - which you can enjoy with a cup of coffee on the front deck.

THE ACCOMMODATION

A cosy, relaxing cottage on one level that is perfect for housing six people in comfort.

Home: Amenities

Sunshine Cottage has four bedrooms - one double with a shower room (pictured above), and a further double bedroom. There is another room with twin beds and a further single bedroom. All of the bedrooms have plenty of storage space with wardrobes and drawers. As well as the en-suite shower room, there is also a separate family bathroom with WC and a shower over the bath.

Although the house can sleep a maximum of up to seven people, we prefer to rent this for a group of six to allow ample bathroom and living space for the group.

You enter the cottage from the back, where there is a small utility/laundry area with washing machine and tumble drier. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need for a self-catering holiday with family & friends and leads through to a dining room with table & chairs and views of the sea.

The large living room has two comfy sofas and coffee tables, with magnificent views both to the hills at the front and the sea to the side. There is a Smart TV, X-Box, Wi-fi and some books and games to relax after a day spent exploring the beautiful beaches and coastline.

ABOUT COLONSAY

Do lots or do nothing at all...

Colonsay is an island in the Inner Hebrides, off the West Coast of Scotland, with the neighbouring islands of Jura, Islay and Mull. Colonsay is around 10 miles long by two miles wide and is reached by a regular ferry service, taking just over two hours from Oban. There is also an airfield with a scheduled weekly service.

Colonsay has a lovely hotel & restaurant just along the road in Scalasaig, with a cosy bar and tables outside to enjoy the views of the sea. There is also the Pantry cafe near the harbour, a well-equipped shop, and the beautiful Colonsay House gardens & cafe, which are open in the Spring & Summer months. Other ways to spend your time include a golf course (which can rival any scenic hole in the world), paddle boarding & bike hire, two gin distilleries, bookshop and many other ways to enjoy this beautiful island - when you're not exploring its incredible landscape, coastline and beautiful beaches.
